The Emerge California Internship Program offers participants a unique opportunity to participate in and experience the work of a political nonprofit organization. The program exposes interns to the day-to-day operations and the ins and outs of running the seven-month training program.

Emerge California has announced today that Maimuna Syed will become the organization’s new Executive Director effective February 1st. Maimuna has worked for statewide and national unions for eight years. Prior to coming to Emerge CA, Maimuna worked for the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton.

Here in the Bay Area, men are working hard to get women elected to office. Emerge California, which recruits and trains Democratic women to run for office, will honor those men at its annual fall mixer at Hawthorn in San Francisco.

Oakland, CA – Emerge California has elected Josefina Ramirez Notsinneh and Janice Rocco to its Board of Directors. Both are public policy experts based in Sacramento.
